Optimum Online is now blocking the outbound mail port (port 25).
If you have Optimum Online and can not send outgoing mail, you have two options.
You can change your outgoing mail port to port 587 in your e-mail client (i.e. Outlook or Outlook Express via Tools>Accounts) thus avoiding the blocked port. This will enable your web site e-mail to work with our service.
Alternately, you can set your outgoing (smtp) mail server to mail.optonline.net in your e-mail client (i.e. Outlook or Outlook Express via Tools>Accounts). This also will enable your web site e-mail to work with our service.
